Established in early 2006 by Christy and Kevin Kemerer, the Cheesecake Caffe is located in Irwin, Pennsylvania within an old Victorian house that dates back to 1870—the second oldest house in historical Irwin. Christy, the chef and co-owner, is best known for her unique cheesecakes that are prepared using fresh, quality ingredients and made directly on the premises. Having studied culinary arts in school, she held food service positions in places ranging from the Sheraton Corporation to Walt Disney World. She was visiting coffee shops in the D.C area when she decided that Irwin would be the perfect home to a relaxing, neighborhood coffeehouse that serves her famous cheesecakes. With her friendly, people-loving husband Kevin serving as the “face” of Cheesecake Caffe, the couple opened the restaurant. Christy’s passion for excellence, coffee, and her love of baking is certainly reflected in the quality of products offered.
